This story is very incomplete and needs seriouse editing so please bear with me on spelling mistakes and bad grammer.
“Come on Tereal. It is just a game. One or two rounds of Sabace won’t kill you.” Kyp said nudging Tereal towards the table. “My friend will...”
“Not be playing.” Tereal interrupted turning on Kyp he added quieter, “I only gamble with my life, you know that.” The dealer looked at Tereal and Kyp sizing them up. Although they both carried blasters and some more exotic weapons, they didn’t carry the look of con artists. One of them, the one reluctant to gamble was clearly a veteran in combat. The scars and the way he walked and stood said ex-military or mercenary all over. The other looked like a back-up man. Small enough to pass as several different species if properly concealed. No scars or any other distinguishing marks. Glancing around at the players and then back at Kyp and Tereal the dealer glared as if he wanted to say ‘play or don’t play but stop wasting our time . Tereal said glumly, “Ok just a few rounds.”
Sitting down Tereal waited while the dealer did his job and distributed the cards. “Ummmm. Excuse me, but what number do you want?” Tereal said quietly as if embarrassed at his lake of knowledge.
“Twenty-three” the dealer grunted in basic. “Positive or negative, closest wins only a pure Sabace can take the Sabace pot but every round winner takes the hand pot. Need any other rules?” Shaking his head Russ quieted the Tw’lect. Picking up his cards Tereal groaned. In his hand he held a total of -3. Raising the pot by ten credits Tereal was called and raised by another twenty. A randomizer hit changing Tereal’s hand to a positive twenty. Three of the six players dropped out. Adding another thirty credits to the pile, Tereal was called by the remaining three. Setting his cards on the table and glancing at everyone else’s cards Tereal smiled and said “Guess I win then.” He exclaimed. Taking the credit chips from the table he got the sum he had put on the table and then added the remaining funds to the Sabace pot.
Several rounds later Tereal was up 300 credits and had put in somewhere near 7,800 credits to the Sabace pot. Several of the players had cashed in their chips and left and several more players replaced them. “Last round.” The dealer announced as he dealt the cards out.
Jumping at the words Tereal said, “Oh! I had no idea how many rounds I played.” When Tereal had jumped he knocked down his cards and credit chips. Bending down to get them he traded the two cards for two shifters. Picking up the chips and shifters he returned to his seat at the table. Throwing every thing into the pot and muttering “I hope everyone folds.” Just loud enough for everyone to hear it, but it could still pass as an accident. Discreetly tapping the shifters to a pure Sabace, Tereal frowned deeply when everyone called him. A randomizer struck. Laying down the cards Tereal said, “That randomizer saved me!” Pulling all the chips, and the two shifters, towards him and stuffing them into a bag. Tereal stood up and said, “Now I must cash in and find my friend.”
Walking to the counter Tereal cashed in the chips in an amount of 20,342 credits. Loosening his blaster, Tereal walked towards the bar where Kyp, would be waiting as planned. “How much did ya get off them?” Kyp asked leaning up against the counter sipping from the Corellian ale he held in one hand. Sliding ale over to Tereal, Kyp handed the bar tender 10 more credits.
“Some where around 20,340 or something like that some of them put in coupons for their business, or gems and such.” Tereal said casually. Drinking from the ale Tereal reached into the bag and pulled out a necklace that contained 15 different gems Tereal handed it to Kyp and closed his open mouth saying, “Give that to your wife.”
“Sithspawn your good! Let’s get out of here before they figure it out!” Kyp said putting his glass down. The two men turned to leave. Kyp was silently counting the meters to the door and freedom. Tereal was thinking, So far so good. Now if luck holds.
”Cheaters! They used shifters!” the voice of the dealer echoed across the building. Turning to see if they were the ones being blamed Tereal and Kyp saw the sluggish dealer struggling through the crowd shouting “Guards! Guards!”
Shrugging as he drew his blaster Tereal said, “Run!” as he gave Kyp a push towards the door. Firing his blaster into the ceiling of the casino Tereal achieved what he wanted. Wide spread panic. The wealthy land owners and company owners decided that they were worth to much money to die and started scrambling for the door.
In the chaos that followed Tereal and Kyp were able to slip through the doors and out of the building to their ship and freedom.
