Alright, as the plot continues to progress into an original one of our own, members that've read about the Pinnacle Base secret meeting should know that right now the Republic is on the brink of corruption. Some changes have been made involving the armor of the different soldiers that make them a little more Empire-like.
The changes go as follows:
(Note: The armor shown is all from pictures of clone troopers. The armor used by the Republic Troopers is similar, but not the same. I just want to put a picture of what these troopers will look like in your mind.)
Private: Lowest rank of enlisted Republic Soldier. Receives basic republic rifle, pistol, and thermal detonators. Consists of Pilots and Ground Troops.
Armor given to privates looks kind of like this.
Corporal: A step up, soldiers with this rank are given more equipment and send on tougher assignments. Consists of Pilots and Ground Troopers.
Corporals are given armor that looks like this.
Sergeant: Soldiers with this rank now have authority over troops of lower rank, and may lead a platoon or a starship squadron. They consist of pilots and ground troops.
Sergeants get armor like this.
Sergeant First Class: The last rank before commander, few soldiers progress beyond this rank. Consisting of pilots and ground troops, soldiers with this rank may serve on and command troops on capital ships, as well as command platoons.
The only armor difference between First Class sergeants and regular ones is the piece on their helmets.
When progressing to this point, soldiers choose/are chosen to take a leadership position…
On Land (Or in starfighters):
Commander: Soldiers are rarely promoted to this rank. Commanders lead army legions, an immense responsibility few soldiers are privileged enough to get. Consists of pilots and ground troops, depending on what type of legion the commander is leading.
Commander armor looks kind of like this.
General: The rank given to soldiers showing extraordinary talent and discipline while serving, Generals see a lot of action at war. Not bound to a legion or platoon, they are considered more like action heroes rather than officers, taking an active role in battling and in devising tactics. Consists of troops that both pilot and fight on the ground.
Generals wear this prototype armor featuring personal deflector shields and limited stealth capabilities. (Yes, it’s the MJOLNIR Mark VI armor from Halo, but it looks to darn cool to not use)

Aboard Capital Ships:
Admiral: These soldiers command the operation of republic capital ships, having authority over the entire crew aboard.
Uniform is just like Imperial Officer’s uniform in the Original Trilogy.
Fleet Admiral: These soldiers serve aboard command ships (usually just bigger, more armored capital ships), with command over all admirals in their assigned fleet.
Same uniform as above.
